Who is David Kau ?

David Kau is a South African comedian . He rose to fame through the television comedy series ‘ The Pure Monate Show ’ in 2003. David was born in Maokeng in the Free State province.

His Education

The Comedian matriculated in 1994 from Meridian College. The following year , he pursued his studies further at the University of Cape town to study a Performers’ Diploma in Speech and Drama.

How his Career started

In 2008 , he got to perform at his first major comedy gig at the Smirnoff International Comedy Festival. Since then David Kau has headlined many comedy festivals around the country and co-created the stand-up comedy show ‘Blacks Only’.

2006 , he got the opportunity to host the 3rd Channel O Music Video Awards.
And In 2008 David Kau won the inaugural Mzansi Star Comedian award at the first annual Stars of Mzansi Awards. he was also the host and judge of the SABC 1 reality talent show ‘So You Think You’re Funny ’.

Kau remains of the best comedians to ever live in South Africa , He is regarded a legend in the comedy space.
