Multi-award winning duo Mafikizolo are not stopping for anything!
Since coming out tops at the South African Music Awards last Monday, this past weekend they lit up Bloemfontein at the Bloemfontein Show.
Now Mafikizolo has been invited to perform at the upcoming Black Entertainment Television awards next month. The awards ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, USA on 29 June.
Nhlanhla Nciza said: “This is the biggest opportunity for us. We want to make Mzansi and Africa proud.
“We want to follow in the footsteps of great musicians such as Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela.
“We are taking our dancers, fashion and culture to the awards.”
She said that they have accepted the invitation and will definitely fly the South African flag high.
The two have shown that musicians are able to stay relevant years after releasing their albums.
Their humility has made them the darlings of Africa and their talent blows you away.
Asked about their formula for hit songs, Nhlanhla said they like to write sing along songs, which is probably why their music resonates with any age group.
Since Mafikizolo’s first album in 1997, Nhlanhla and Theo Kgosinkwe have released eight albums.
Mafikizolo have also been nominated for four MTV Africa awards, which will also be held next month at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in KZN.
