Who is Tumi Morake ?
Tumi Morake is a South African TV personality , comedian and actress . She is the first woman to host Comedy Central Presents in Africa. and in 2018, Tumi became the first African woman to have her own set on Netflix.
Where It all Started
She started her hustle in 2006 doing shows in smoky clubs and has grown so much since she started. Tumi Morake has steadily grown into became one of South Africa’s most sought after comedians. She is regarded as South Africa’s First Lady of Comedy.
Morake’s creativity around comedy has earned her a place as a headliner in different comedy festivals all over the country. The first woman to host Comedy Central Presents in Africa.
Morake has not allowed borders to limit her talent , she has thus headlined show in countries such as Ghana, Zimbabwe, Botswana and more. In 2011 , She hosted her debut one woman show titled ‘Herstory’ and it was a huge success. After that successful show , She went to scotland in 2013 to host the one woman show at the famed Edinburg Festival.
