Who is Areece ?

Areece is a South African Hip Hop artist born and bred in Pretoria. Real name Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge.

Musical Influences

AReece got into hip hop when he was only ten years old, mostly influenced by his brother who used to play a lot of hip-hop music. He then later started writing lyrics and by the time he got to high school, he was already entering talent competitions.

Releasing His first Mixtape

In 2013, AReece released his first mixtape titled ‘Forever King’. One of the singles on the mixtape ‘Casper Picture’ started making waves in the industry. The song was inspired by the hip hop giant Cassper Nyovest. He then worked with PH Raw and signed to Raw X production. He released another EP ‘Browniez ’

Joining Ambitiouz Entertainment

In 2015 He got signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment and dropped his first national single ‘Couldn’t’ feat his label mate EMtee . Couldn’t became a big song, it was all over radio and was doing huge number on youtube.

A-Reece dropped his debut album PARADISE in 2016, which debuted at number 1 on itunes. The album also won him the Best Lyricists award at the South African Hip Hop Awards in 2016.

In the beginning of 2017, things went sour with his label and he official left ambitious records to go do things independently.
